Op V Natural Engagements

The wind is howling, rains starts pelting us, we’re tired from the activities of Op V. Perfect time to do a tactical hike in steep terrain!

Jardine and I suit up with our own AR15 builds and have a great time engaging natural targets in Op V valley. Glocks come into play as well. Just like previous TNP ops you’ll get to see a “systems integration” in play here: mags, glove, packs, LBE, pistol, ammo, comms, etc.

Thanks for coming along with Operation Valkyrie…it was a bunch of work but worth every second and as usual we also learned a lot!

Savage A22 Magnum: BOK Option?

Coming in lots of models, the Savage A22 series is lightweight and seems versatile. .17 HMR, .22LR, and .22 Mag variations are offered and I got the last one for T&R.

It has a bunch of good things going for it: low price, lightweight, xlnt accuracy, xlnt trigger and more. Of course I’ll have to note some downsides too and I’ll give Savage a tip on how they could sell more!

Another free video to TNPP nation!

Sig MPX Copperhead Exposed: Full Review

I will dig deep into why I don’t like this submachine gun wannabe, the Copperhead. OK it’s just a semi auto pistol but you know what I mean.

Sig apparently wanted “maximum concealability with few snag points” and had input from the “professional community” in its design. Uh, OK but these guys must have been idiots. Because what resulted is a heavy braced pistol that offers zero advantage over an AR9 pistol or other quality braced pistol option. There’s lots wrong with the Copperhead.

Sure the Copperhead looks pretty cool and features a closed rotating bolt design but it’s also over 5 lbs. Its looks alone will attract buyers and be prepared for them to defend their $1500 purchase in comments. It seems like another abstract, unvetted idea that seemed real cool on paper but grossly violates versatility, value, ergonomic, and SAWC principles.

Credit is given to other MPX models like the “K” that might be better.
But in the end several much better options in the same caliber are shown.

ProTech Don Auto: Italian Coolness

ProTech Don Auto: Italian Coolness
ProTech is a small knife company Hq’d in Artesia, CA and all their blades are of course 100% pure American goodness. They produce small quantities of high end autos, many reviewed and beloved here.

The more special Godfather series will anchor this review however. It was a formative auto for me personally, acquired before TNP. You’ll see two versions of it as we consider a similar blade, the ProTech “Don Auto”. TD helps out with the review and adds hilarity as usual.

This Italian inspired design has those elements but is much high quality, faster, and cooler than any European switchblade I’ve seen (and I’ve owned several). The price is kind of up there but the knife will hold its value and that’s the cost for American made. Also consider the value price GODSON, the smaller version of The Godfather. These are lightweight very cool collectibles and come in at a low price point.

Freedom Ordnance FX9: A Fave PCC

We take it to the Bunker with TacticalDoodle in attendance to summarize our experience so far with the Freedom Ordnance FX9. Coming in 4″, 8″ (this one, rec’d), and 16″ flavors, the FX9 went on several outings. A easily rectified problem emerged discussed. But then the gun performed amazingly well making it one of our favorite lightweight AR9s we’ve shot to date. The last shot hold open, Glock mag capability, good accuracy, and stellar reliability won us over. A highly recommended PCC option.
Also included is yet another TacticalDoodle rant on how gun mfrs need to locktite their damn guns! (In this case put in better fire control group pins!)

This was filmed in 2019 well before the Pandemic but you’ll see at the end of the video some of our wise advice on food storage!

Momentum Field Watches: Smokejumper, Atlas 44!

You could spend $500 on the auto Hamilton Khaki H70575733 field watch or you could get this high value excellent “Smokejumper” field watch. Made by Momentum, this is a flat wearing awesome looking watch from the “Atlas” lineup. With that in mind, I’ll also review in this WRV it’s brother, the “Atlas 44.” It is a big improvement of the lilliputian 38mm version that I got rid of, the Atlas 44 is perfectly sized and has great wrist presence.

Both watches have big personalities but in different ways: the Smokejumper is tactical black and stealthy, the Atlas 44 possesses a lume face with stark black arrow hands; at night these hands stand out in stark contrast. Each looks like a technical field watch and has legible day/date…a rarity it seems. Both run on the entirely adequate Seiko VX43E quartz movement powered by 371 battery. Sapphire, AR coated crystal option is shown and discussed but I think it’s a waste of money.

Their excellent strap options, clear markings, 100M water resistance, great looks, and versatile sizing make both the Atlas 44 and the cooly named Smokejumper a favorite field watch.

As a bonus you’ll see the Nutnfancy programmed version of the Smokejumper at the end of the video! Also a fun Robotech and B24 discussion ensues!

Sig P365XL: The Do Everything Carry

If my informal polling is accurate Sig P365 appears is the best selling concealed carry gun in the US. For good reason: lightweight, xlnt magazine capacity, great trigger, very accurate, reliable, superb ergos and sights. Enter the XL version, a surprising addition to the lineup.
Here we have a longer barrel, longer sight radius, a bit different trigger, and substantially higher rounds capacity. All this for nominal increase in weight.
A surprising POU emerges where people will use the XL as their all around defensive pistol choice; both for CCW and for home defense. Like all guns it has a few quirks which are covered but overall you’ll see the P365XL to be another top seller for Sig and sets another standard for subcompact nines to aspire to.

TNP Boker Kalashnikov AK 74

The next Special Edition TNP blade is a reality. Totally different that what you’d expect but I wanted to change it up a bit since this will be mostly a collectible knife. 2nd Cool will prevail in this piece and it’s a tremendous score and piece of TNP history at just $55.

TNP Patrons bought well over half of these Kalashnikov AK 74s in 4 hours so the advice to buy without delay remains. Even as an investment it is money well spent; I suspect these will double in value after they’re gone from BHQ. But as stated in the video it’s not about making money but it’s another marker to The Project and how far we’ve come together! These cool TNP blades mark the events that surround it and are a piece of history. For instance the day I filmed this yet another earthquake hit Utah.

Tactically Squared Away Pt 2, Ready for the Apocalypse?

Filmed during the Pandemic Crisis of the Covid Flu in the TNP Bunker, we will expand the discussion of being Tactically Squared Away in terms of recent events.
The original focus of course is how to be prepared for a Nutnfancy Project RunNGun or Soldier Boy (SB) Callout! Updated for 2020 there’s a lot of information in this epic full length Part 2 which might even be more popular than Part 1.

I’ll address physical/mental preparedness again and why it’s important. Predictions for WROL are given and I hope I’m wrong. I answer viewer question like is being prepared for an SB Callout good enough for WROL Patrols too? Specific gear advice is proffered. This is from my own perspective and simply discussed my own non BS preparations.

Expect some info on comm radio options, body armor, LBE, knife integration, ammo loadout, slings, weapon and personal lights, IFAKs, clothing/footwear, optics, extra batteries and more. SAWC and the Firepower vs Mobility philosophy established years ago here will be the foundation. “Overwatch fire support” (OFS) of neighborhood patrols is introduced here. Differences in engagement ranges of SB and other real world situations are drawn.

Of course this is all about legitimate mission-focused Soldier Boy or even WROL preparations…I will mock some of the silly stuff you see on YouTube related to the subject!
So dial up this 1.5 hour epic SB/WROL systems philosophy video made possible only by TNP Donors! Are you one, if not it’s never too late to support and encourage my work flow: www.patreon.com/nutnfancy

The K98 That Tiger Tank Crews Wish They Had: M63

Have you even heard of this before? Called the “Tanker Mauser M63” it was produced in small quantities by Zastava (read high quality) and available for only a few years. Mitchell’s Mausers imported them.

Here TacticalDoodle and I consider its awesomeness after shooting it for several years. The price we paid for it will astound you. Not really used in WW II this was an exercise of actually producing the long rumored Tanker Mauser. Mind you, this was not a surplus rifle but a top quality new production Mauser from Kragujevac, Serbia.

You’ll see what a brand new pre war quality K98 would look like by examining the quality of this M63 Tanker. We will talk about the resulting ergos and its shootability along with a quick review of the K98 platform. We will consider its uses. And oh yeah this one is also chambered in .308 which brings its own level of excitement.

Another fun Bunker review with funny TD who somewhere along the way makes me wish, again, that I was wearing a gas mask.

Mitchells Mausers appears to have pretty much flatlined. Their website shows no listing of affordable guns and their supply, as they had warned has dried up.

FILMED BEFORE THE APOCALYPSE OF COURSE
