DIY, or Doing It Yourself, is so much more than just tinkering around in the shop. To me it's an opportunity to force myself to do something I never imagined myself doing, welding a trailer, using, and buying a Sawmill to mill lumber from trees I cut Down. It is also a great reason to buy cool stuff like a Sawmill to build cabinets, Freeze Drier for food storage, Welder to connect steel I-beams, even build additions to the house, and so much more.
DIY is, to me the ultimate hobby with no set of rules like Golf, it teaches Skills and saves money, in spite of the cost of the newly acquired Tools.
